Since the establishment of the Diocese of Phoenix in 1969, our community has seen great growth.
Over 1.1 million Catholics now reside within our borders, which encompass 43,967 square miles. We have grown to 117 parishes/missions and 28 Catholic Elementary Schools and 6 Catholic High Schools.
Our journey as Catholics is not yet complete – God has much more in store for us. He calls us to step out in faith, to deepen our walk with Him and to bring others to an encounter of His love. Bishop Thomas J. Olmsted has laid out a nine-part plan to accomplish this mission of evangelization, which gives each one of us the opportunity to engage in our faith by helping the church meet the extraordinary needs we face. Our family of faith is coming together in this historic campaign to meet these needs by raising $100 million through an outstanding e ort over the next ve years. With eyes xed on Him, we recall one of the greatest evangelizers of the Southwest, St. Junipero Serra, and take up his cry: Together Let Us Go Forth! ~ ¡Juntos Sigamos Adelante
